How to make DIY Incense

meditation personal growth recipes May 30, 2021

Grounding means to come into your body. In essence it is embodiment.

There are many ways to do this but one of my favourite is connecting with nature through the simplicity of being with it.

Last week I made some chemical free, low tox incense (because the smell of smoke is grounding and of itself).

I could have put it in the blender - which would have been more efficient. But when I work with herbs and plants, I am aware that a large part of the medicine comes from working with them (versus just putting them together to consume in some way).

This requires touching, smelling and feeling the energy they possess which means I need to give of my time, care and energy in return.

Every inch of energy expended is well worth the grounding and healing which leaves me feeling clear and content.

The process is pretty easy...

  1. Harvest and dry your favourite herbs, flowers & leaves (it's recommended you use fragrant plants)
  2. Grind until it is a fine powder (and enjoy the healing fragrance of the oils as you do)
  3. Grab some fresh Aloe Vera from the garden (or a friend if you don't have any) and mix in just enough to form a paste
  4. Roll into little cones (or you can do pea size balls)
  5. Allow to dry for 24 to 48 hours
  6. Add a drop of your favourite essential oil (optional)
  7. Light and enjoy!

Breathe. Connect. Create.

We have forgotten who we are. We have forgotten our own power... Our ability to love.... Our expansive gifts to create and problem solve.... And we have forgotten that the solutions and path are not found outside of ourselves, but are residing within waiting patiently for us.

Aromanosis is a practice of improving oneself in every area of life. We have a “begin within” philosophy where an internal practice of awareness, release, connection and growth are central (and the building blocks of) everything we do.

Our Aromanosis practice revolves around this central concept. We utilise a range of techniques to help us delve into different focus topics to create growth and change.

Within our practice group, there are no ‘stages’ or ‘levels,’ only continual learning and self growth. There is an understanding within Aromanosis that the practice is never complete and you are always at the perfect stage of development.

Aromanosis is about creating from the inside out.
